Protein Is KING!

Why do we harp on Protein so much when you want to loose weight, or gain or maintain?!?

Protein is the most filling macro! It is going to keep you the fullest longer and helps curb those cravings. PLUS, EVERY cell in the human body contains protein.

Protein helps to build lean muscle. The more lean muscle on our frames help to manipulate our overall body composition and allow more calories to be burned at rest. This also helps to prioritize fat loss and not just "weight" loss.

The basic structure of protein is a chain of amino acids. There is a combination of 20 amino acids in your body, 9 of which are esstential and can only be obtained by diet. These 9 amino acids require "Complete Proteins" to be consumed.

An example of complete proteins would be:

Chicken Beef Steak Fish Eggs/Egg Whites Tuna Turkey Ham Cottage Cheese Soy Products/Tofu Level-1

When counting your macros you want your Protein goal to be at your ideal body weight especially when loosing weight. A good rule of thumb to ensure proper intake throughout the day is aim for 30g of protein with each meal.

Protein should be set up as a 1:1 ratio of body weight to protein intake. Once you hit that goal weight then protein intake can be adjusted.

Overall Protein is Key!! 1. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage and skin. When not consuming enough protein, your body acutally looses muscle instead of working to build lean muscle.

2. It is used it to build and repair tissue. When consuming a protein source or (Phormula-1) after a workout it helps repair the micro tears in the muscle quicker aiding in faster recovery.

3. Red blood cells contain a protein compound that carries oxygen throughout the body. This helps supply your entire body with the nutrients it needs.

4. Aproximately half the dietary protein that you consume each day goes into making enzymes, which aids in digesting food, and making new cells and body chemicals.

5. Protein plays an important role in hormone regulation, especially during the transformation and development of cells during puberty.
